Scribe Program

HOPE Clinic is looking for dedicated volunteers to be a part of our new scribe program. This is an opportunity for pre-health students to observe and assist physicians at our community health centers. During each shift, the volunteer scribes will collect patient information, write notes, and learn about medical care from the providers. Selected volunteers will be trained at HOPE Clinic and assigned to physicians across various specialties.

Please note that volunteers are not allowed to directly interact with the patients.

Program Overview

The Scribe Program at HOPE Clinic was implemented to provide pre-health students the opportunity to observe and participate in the day-to-day operations of physicians within a community clinic environment. Interested pre-health individuals will receive the necessary training in order to assist their assigned providers with medical documentation. Providers will receive help with their documentation, which reduces time spent on paperwork, allowing the provider can focus more on the patient's needs in real-time.

Our goal is to connect aspiring healthcare individuals to their community and to promote awareness, engagement, and access for the undeserved community as a whole.

Benefits of Being a Scribe

  • The ability to improve patient outcomes by providing physicians with more time to focus on other clinical responsibilities.
